We believe that research, reflective thinking, and communication skills are among the most valuable of all academic pursuits and provide training for leadership in many aspects of society.
Our goal is to create scholarships, fellowships, and grant opportunities to help as many high school students as possible, regardless of financial circumstances, to participate in the activity.
The Patterson Scholars Program
The Patterson Scholarship Endowment is a needs-based fund established for the primary purpose of providing high-school students with the funds, supplies, and resources necessary to travel and participate in high school speech and debate tournaments and to attend high school debate camps.
The Patterson Fellows Program is a merit-based program that provides full-tuition scholarships to twelve of the top rising policy debaters in the country to attend the University of Michigan Seven-Week summer camp. These twelve students are known as "The J.W. Patterson Fellows."
