2022 SUMMER DEBATE CAMP APPLICATIONS
We believe that research, reflective thinking, and communication skills are among the most valuable of all academic pursuits and provide training for leadership in many aspects of society.
Our goal is to create scholarships, fellowships, and grant opportunities to help as many high school students as possible, regardless of financial circumstances, to participate in the activity.
The Patterson Scholars Program is a need-based scholarship endowment established for the primary purpose of providing high-school students with the funds, equipment, and resources necessary to travel and participate in high school speech and debate tournaments and attend high school debate camps.
The Patterson Fellows Program is a merit-based program that provides full-tuition scholarships to twelve of the top rising senior debaters in the country to attend the University of Michigan Seven-Week Seniors Program during the summer of 2020. These twelve students are known as "The J.W. Patterson Fellows."
The Patterson Speakers Program is a need-based program currently being developed that provides educational opportunities in public speaking to both high school and college students who want to learn, expand or refine their speaking skills for the purposes of serving in student government positions or other leadership roles.
