Honoring the Memory of Dr. J.W. Patterson
May 9, 1928 - December 30, 2023

The mission of the J.W. Patterson Foundation is to create a legacy in honor of the Foundation’s namesake, by providing educational opportunities and expanding the accessibility of speech, debate and leadership activities through both need-based scholarships and merit-based fellowships.

MEET OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

We believe speech, debate and communication skills are life-long assets that sharpen academic performance, strengthen leadership, and are fundamental to growth and success.

Our goal is to make these foundational life skills accessible to all students, regardless of income, so that future generations have the necessary skills to change the face of communication, discourse, negotiation and conflict resolution throughout our society.

Your tax-deductible donation will ensure that generations of students will enjoy and reap the life-long intellectual and professional benefits afforded by competitive speech and debate.
