PATTERSON FELLOWS

Dhruv Ahuja

Dhruv Ahuja attends Chaminade College Preparatory High School in Los Angeles, California. 

In 2019-2020 Dhruv won the Long Beach Invitational and reached quarterfinals of both the Damus Hollywood Invitational and Meadows School Tournament. He won 3rd speaker at the Peninsula Invitational, 6th speaker at the Damus Hollywood Invitational, and 12th speaker at the Meadows School Tournament.

Gabe Chang-Deutsch

Gabe Chang-Deutsch attends South High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Gabe is a member of the National Honor Society. This past year he was a finalist at the Valley Mid-America Cup and 6th speaker at the University of Michigan Tournament. He's a two-time qualifier to the "Tournament of Champions."

Margaret Hecht

Margaret Hecht attends New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois.

Margaret received four bids to the 2020 "Tournament of Champions" and reached the octa-finals. She reached the quarterfinals at the Pine Crest and University of Michigan tournaments. She's on the New Trier Honor Roll and tutors in their English department.

Azi Hormozdiari

Azi Hormozdiari attends Chaminade College Preparatory High School in Los Angeles, California.

In 2019-2020 Azi won the Long Beach Invitational, reached the quarterfinals of both the Damus Hollywood Invitational and Meadows School Tournament. She won 3rd Speaker at The Glenbrooks and Meadows School Tournament and 2nd Speaker at the Damus Hollywood Invitational and Peninsula Tournament.

Mia Leutzinger

Mia Leutzinger attends Robert McQueen High School in Reno, Nevada.

Mia is the president of her school's debate club. She reached the quarterfinals at Greenhill and St. Marks last season. She first qualified for the "Tournament of Champions" as a sophomore and received six qualifying bids last season.

Sam Meacham

Sam Meacham attends Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Sam is the recipient of the 2020 David P. Baker Award.

Sam was the winner of the 2020 "Tournament of Champions" and also received the fourth speaker award.

Colin McDonough

Colin McDonough attends New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois.

Colin was an octa-finalist at the 2020 "Tournament of Champions." He enjoys involvement in other equity-related initiatives within and outside of his high school.

Thomas Reese

Thomas Reese attends Robert McQueen High School in Reno, Nevada.

Thomas has been debating since 7th grade and has attended the "Tournament of Champions" twice. Outside of debate, he's maintained a 4.0 GPA and has participated in a variety of extracurricular activities.

Sam Shafiro

Sam Shafiro attends Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park, Illinois.

Sam plays the clarinet, piano, and accordion. He reached the finals of the Dowling Catholic Paradigm and octa-finals of the "Tournament of Champions." He received the George Washington University book award, the Distinguished Achievement in Junior English award, and was a finalist for the Bronfmun Fellowship.

Allyson Spurlock

Allyson Spurlock attends C.K. McClatchy High School in Sacramento, California.

She was a quarterfinalist at the 2020 "Tournament of Champions" and attended the "Tournament of Champions" in 2019. She is the captain of her debate team and also participates in the Humanities and International Studies Program.

Brendan Tremblay

Brendan Tremblay attends Damien High School in La Verne, California.

He received four bids to the 2020 "Tournament of Champions" and was a finalist at the Jack Howe Memorial Invitational and Meadows School tournament.

Lexy Yeager

Lexy Yeager attends The Meadows School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She serves as President of The National Honor Society and has been inducted into the Cum Laude Society. She earned five "Tournament of Champions" bids this past year.
